Dr. Magnus Karlsson is one of the world’s foremost authorities on innovation management systems and a principal contributor to the development of the ISO 56000 series — including the newly published ISO 56001. Based in Sweden, he has spent more than 20 years designing and implementing innovation architectures for global leaders such as Ericsson, Volvo, Electrolux, and H&M.
He currently chairs Sweden’s Innovation Management Standardization Committee (SIS), representing the country’s contributions to European (CEN) and global (ISO) standards. As a senior advisor, partner at Amplify, and adjunct professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Dr. Karlsson bridges the worlds of theory, policy, and enterprise execution.
He believes that innovation maturity is not an abstract concept — it is a system that must be designed, taught, and audited with the same rigor as any business-critical capability. His role with BOLD is to ensure that every innovation system we build in Asia meets the most advanced international benchmarks.
